Is Donald Trump a Racist?

Nigel Evans MP

Last week, Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow, caused controversy by boldly stating he believed that President Donald Trump should not be allowed to address parliament on his state visit.

Mr Bercow said,:

“I feel very strongly that our opposition to racism and to sexism and our support for equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons.”

He received applause and cheers from Labour, Lib Dem and SNP MPs, but a few Conservatives were aghast.
In response, Tory MP and all round champion of environmental destruction, Nigel Evans, criticised those who had spoken ill of Mr Trump , boldy stating :

"When we stand up in this country and then condemn him for being racist, and I have seen no evidence of that, I have seen no evidence of him being racist, we are actually attacking the American people."

Right then.......... How long do you have.............

Trumps' Executive Order

On his first day as President of the USA, Trump signed an executive order to restrict immigration.

This included :
- Suspension of refugee programme for 120 days, and cap on 2017 numbers
- Indefinite ban on Syrian refugees
- Ban on anyone arriving from seven Muslim-majority countries (Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Sudan), with certain exceptions
- Cap of 50,000 refugees

He said this was due to the terror threat that these countries presented to the USA. I'm going to list terrorists that have committed some of the biggest attacks in the USA in the past few years and their nationality:

- Esteban Santiago-Ruiz (Fort Lauderdale/USA)
- Abdul Razak Ali Artan (Ohio University/Somalia)
- Ahmad Khan Rahimi (New York and New Jersey/Afghanistan)
- Omar Mateen (Orlando Nightclub/USA)
- Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik (San Bernardino/USA and Pakistan)
- Robert Dear (Colorado Springs/USA)
- Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez (Chattanooga/Kuwait)
- Dylann Roof (Charleston Church/USA)
- Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (Boston Marathon/Kyrgyzstan and Russia)

Even the 9/11 attackers consisted of 15 Saudi Arabians, 2 UAE, 1 Egyptian and 1 Lebanese

Well Mr Trump, anything to say about that? Maybe you should look more into your own people buying weapons than worrying about those fleeing them from abroad. It is clear from the evidence that only 1 major terror attack was committed by a person from a banned nation. Furthermore, in April last year, US Central Command estimated they killed 41 innocent civilians in Syria through their operations. In 2 years it is estimated that all coalition forces have killed in excess of 300 innocent civilians as collateral damage. Canada has an open door policy to Syrian Refugees and has had no terror attacks related to this since starting. Normal everyday people such as Juhel Miah, a welsh teacher, were held at airports because of their religion. Judging by this, who are the real countries that face overseas terror attacks? The President has no evidence to suggest that people coming from these countries are any more likely to commit an atrocity than his own people, therefore I will declare this is a racist policy, wrapped in deceit and lies.

Mexico

Next there is that whole business with Mexico. Here are a few things he's said :

"They are not our friend, believe me"

"They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

"Sadly, the overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and hispanics-a tough subject-must be discussed."

These are strong accusations from Trump, none of which I can analyse at this time because I cannot seem to locate any reliable source of offender or prison population stats in the USA. If I do come across this , I will edit this post and discuss it further. However, building a wall to stop people coming into your country is a fairly draconian way of saying "I don't like you". But I guess since he tweeted a picture of himself saying he loved the food they made for him, I guess that's made relations absolutely first class........

Torture

Trump stated that Guantanamo bay and waterboarding should be instrumental when interrogating terror suspects. It seems the harsh treatment of those suspected of terror offences doesn't really work, when just a few days ago, a former inmate Jamal al-Harith, a Muslim convert born Ronald Fiddler, who detonated a car bomb at an Iraqi army base near Mosul and killed 7 soldiers. So why is he so adamant that these heinous tortures work? Well in some cases it has worked. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was water boarded over 180 times during an interrogation. He did end up providing information on an Al Qaeda leader in England. It reportedly took him only 2 and one half minutes to start confessing. However Abu Subaida was also water boarded while being interrogated by the United States CIA. He began releasing information after only 35 seconds. However, it was later found that he was lying and making up information to stop the torture. I wouldn't necessarily say that Trump was driven by racial prejudice in this line of thought, but rather a malevolent morality, which is very concerning

Israel/Palestine

Some of his actions aren't racist at a a first glance but if you look into them, it's a different story. Trump stated that he will not follow the UN approved effort for two recognised states in the middle east of Israel and Palestine. This can only mean he intends to follow the Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu's lead. Netanyahu is highly unsympathetic to the Palestinian cause, often reacting to attacks ultra aggressively and occupying more and more land as time passes. Supporting this against a sanctioned UN plan is nothing short of abuse of the Palestinian people.

Nigel Evans

Nigel Evans can't escape this analysis either. To come out and say this either means he's blind or just as bad, and i'd lobby the latter. He is a denier of the human contribution to global warming(which isn't even a thing, you can't deny a fact!!!), like Mr Trump. He is one of the few MPs that consistently voted against the introduction of the minimum wage and any increases after that. He consistently voted for reducing corporation tax and against stronger action on tax avoidance, yet voted against increases for disability benefits and welfare. However there is the idea that Nigel is trying to forge some sort of relationship with the USA, seeing as we no longer have one with the EU (no thanks to his Leave campaigning). It is likely the UK will have to suck up to people like Trump purely so we can try and stay relevant in an interconnected world. From this , it is easy to assume Mr Evans is a bit morally skewed. Better put, he's a bit of a knob.

Conclusion

Overall, I believe Donald Trump is a racist, particularly towards Mexico and the middle eastern countries. It is evident that his Presidential future is going to be one filled with controversy. So go on Nigel, defend your racist, sexist, loudmouth tangerine. I doubt you'll be doing it in a few years.
